Low vents?

I added about 8 sq ft to the coop because I built it a bit small for the girls. Now I’m at 24 sf for 6 birds. I wanted to know if I should put in a couple vents in the addition even though it is at floor height. It would also add a little light.

Not sure how they will utilize that space....looks like nest box.

I was wondering when I saw the picture, do you include exterior nesting boxes in the square footage part of chicken math? I don't think so, but have to ask to learn.

Yeah looks like a nest box but it is wide open to the rest of the coop as a way to get 24 sf of floor space for my 6 Golden comets. I have enough ventilation up high so I’ll leave things alone.

Still pretty tight quarters in your climate.
Is their run weather proof for more space during the days?

Yeah I have 48 sf covered and fully predator proof. I also have 24 sf of uncovered that extends from the covered part
