For starters, I am SO HAPPY I got this Rcom mini...it's maintaining 55% humidity even though it's close to 80% outside of it. But I still worry a bit, I'm told that 40-45% is a better humidity for call duck eggs. How on earth can I lower the humidity? I heard someone say dry rice, but I'm not sure if that'd work.

Do you have a dehumidifier? I've been running one in the basement next to my incubators and it really helps. Or can you run an a/c in that room?

Nope, got neither. How much does a dehumidifier cost and would it have an impact on a closed, forced-air bator like that?

I don't know for sure- we got ours years ago, but I would guess in the $100-200 range. I'm using styrofoam incubators, but maybe someone would know more about how it would impact a closed one.
