These are pics of my Lt. Sussex at 5 weeks. He is getting feathers down his legs. He's supposed to be from Greenfire Farms lines, but WTH??

The birds I was told are his parents definitely do not have feathered legs. Is this something that sometimes occurs with Sussex and was bred out? Is he really a cross?

I have heard of this from their stock before. It should be culled or at least not be used for breeding. Can't tell you if he's a cross, I know green fire imported their Sussex so it might have been a different standard or cross occurred there?

It doesnt appear to be a cross. This kind of leg feathering is recessive and fairly common in some breeds. I have the same thing occur frequently in my EEs.
