Lucky eggs

About week ago my sister's dog brought home what we believe is a "wild" turkey egg and left it in her yard. The egg was slightly cracked. Few days later the dog brought another one but still warm and in perfect condition. My sister has no poultry experience, but candled it and saw that there was a embryo in it. She put it in a box under a light with a dimmer knob and a refrigerator thermometer. The next day the dog brought another egg! Again still warm!!! She put the new egg under the light with the other one. Yesterday she brought them up to me a (1 hour drive) and I put them in my incubator. I thought oh well they couldn't still be alive, but I'll make my sister feel better by trying to hatch the poor eggs that the dog stole. Today I candled them and both have jumping and wiggling embryos

Such lucky eggs to make it considering the dog, about 2 days with the desk lamp/box, and a 1 hour drive.

The 2 eggs might have come from some "feral" turkeys that someone might have let loose recently. My family saw a small flock passing through a few weeks ago on the ranch. My family has lived on the ranch for around 35 years and we have never seen any wild turkeys in the area...even miles from our place as it's all heavily farmed land. My sister has tried to find out where the nest is, but hasn't found it yet as it could be anywhere on nearly 180+ acres if you include the neighbor's cow pastures and fields.

So...questions???? I have no turkey experience other than Thanksgiving

The eggs look like they are half way developed to me. Any special tips for hatching turkey eggs? I've only hatched chicken eggs. If the eggs do hatch how do I care for them?

I've only done turkey eggs once, but had a pretty successful hatch.

Exactly the same as chickens, they just take an extra week (28 days versus 21 for chickens).

My husband is going to be so mad when he finds out. I promised him no more "chicks" till next year. I had boxed up my bator and put it in the closet.

Maybe chicks won't hatch out of those turkey eggs. Maybe Poults will.

Update: Both eggs are still alive. I heard chirping this morning, so I removed them from the turner and set them up for hatching. I'm worried about one egg. The air sac is very large and I realized that there are two small chips in the egg shell. Not pips, but dog tooth chips. I think the egg lost too much moisture. But, the good new is that both eggs are wiggling. I raised the humidity to 75%, should I increase it more?

when our babies were trying to hatch we had to do it for themour little survivor had made a tiny hole then stopped. the oher one we hatche didn't make it. just keep an eye on them

Your humidity sounds about right turkeys are pretty tough just make sure you put something shiny rocks etc in the water and food they are not going to just peck and drink they need guidance and make sure they drink...you will love your turkeys

There's a PIP

One of the eggs has a pip. Both were still alive this morning, so now the nail biting begins.
