The first one pictured is definitely a boy. The comb really says boy, but it has boy coloring is boy coloring as well.

First is a definite cockerel, 100% sure. At that age, no pullet would have a comb and wattle like that and the coloring is male. Second one is a pullet.

From Ethel's picture I would guess that she's not that much older than 8 weeks. Maybe 10, +/- a week.
