I’ve been expecting one of my chicks to pass for a couple days now, but it keeps pulling through. I’m heartbroken and not sure what to do. It’s obviously a fighter but I’m worried it has Coryza or something similar, endangering my older birds (it is separated from the flock) or being a carrier for the rest of its life. I am hesitating to cull it even though it is probably the right thing to do. Can I please have some advice on more actions and other information. I’ve read a lot and have gotten mixed results on it’s severity.

Poor baby....

Coryza seems unlikely given its age and that it's the only bird you have that's symptomatic, but I don't know much about it, tbh.

Can you describe it in more detail? How old is the chick? Did you hatch it or...? When did it start? Is it eating/drinking? What is it's poop like?

Let's see if we can get you some answers.

Have you tried treating the eye with saline drops to clean the eye, and applying a small dab of Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin twice a day? She might have been pecked in the eye. Do you notice any sneezing or bubbles in the eye?
