Lump next to pullet's eye. What is it?

So I checked her ear when I got up and so far, the stuff in her ear hasn't come back. Since I started using the terramycin on the lump next to her eye, it hasn't gotten any bigger. But I also haven't noticed any appreciable changes to it yet. But it's only been 2 days since I started using it. How many times a day should I be applying it? I started with 2, then upped it to 3 as of yesterday.

I spoke with my vet's office today and set up an appointment to have her looked at, just to be on the safe side. If she's going to need antibiotics, I figure I might as well get that in motion.

In the meantime, I still plan on applying the terramycin and checking her ears for gunk.
I'm glad you were able to remove the material from her ear.
I'd continue with the Terramycin and hopefully the Vet can see her soon.

Keep us posted on what you find out.

Will do! I'm planning on continuing the terramycin until I get her to the vet. I wish I was able to get an appointment sooner, but soonest I could get is The 12th of this month. So I take what I can get. :D

Update time! Starr just got out of her vet appointment for the mysterious eye lump. As good as my vet is, the tests she ran weren't able to diagnose the issue. She got in touch with the state poultry vet and we sent off a swab so they could do further testing. And as best as I understand, they are going to test the sample for pretty much every poultry disease that they can test for. While we are waiting, we're treating her and the rest of my girls with oxytetracycline.

Once I get those results back, I'll update this post again.

Time for another update.. I got a call from the state poultry vet this afternoon. Starr tested positive for mycoplasma. The gentleman I spoke to was very kind to me and sent over a bunch of information about mycoplamsa. A lot of it is not new news to me, as I've been reading up on it since my vet said Starr might have it. Culling my small flock of 3 is not an option, as I love my birds and I am very attached to all of them. That said, my flock is now officially closed. No one in and no one out. I'm also taking this time to educate myself on how to give them the best lives possible while living with mycoplasma.

As for the lump next to Starr's eye, she's been on meds for about a week now with one to go. I'm not really seeing any marked changes in it, but that may change when her medication is done. If not, I'll have a conversation with my vet about what to do next.

The lump on her eye just didn’t look like the typical MG (mycoplasma) we see a lot of here. It sounds like you have a good plan. Mycoplasma can be common in some backyard flocks, but closing the flock to birds coming in or going out of the flock is a good thing. Tylosin or Tiagard are 2 antibiotics commonly used to treat mycoplasma. Jedds.com has Tylosin powder, and dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days.

My vet prescribed oxytetracycline (Oxytet) for it. Instructed me to give it to the entire group, which I'm doing very diligently. They still have a week left to go on it. Hopefully I'll see changes in Starr's lump by then. If not, back to the vet we go.
