This is what it looks like when she is sitting down it has gone grey!!??

That is interesting. Is there any evidence of a tick bite to that area? Tick bites can swell and turn bluish. Can you get another picture in good light? If she has pus in her ear, she probably has infection. You can clean out her ear canal with hydrogen peroxide, and apply plain Neosporin ointment into the canal.

looking at images of tick bites on a chickens earlobe does look very similar. i will check in the morning.

Hard to know if it's contagious or if the infection is something isolated to just her.

I checked on her today, couldn’t get any photos and the swelling seems to have gone down quite a bit. There is nothing in her ear and no tick bite that I can see.

Good to hear the swelling is going down. Gray color or bluish could also be from bruising if she was pecked or bumped in the ear. Bruising is also sometimes bright green. Let us know how she gets along, or if there is any change.
