Today is Jennifer's 14th birthday, and the Princess and I made the trip to Annapolis to spend the day with her. It was a GOOD day. We went out for lunch, had a little party at the house, and sat around and talked 'family' talk. Her kidney function is close to normal, and she is no longer suffering from fluid retention. She goes in on Monday for the third chemo treatment, and hopefully will only have to remain in the hospital overnight. She should be in good shape by Christmas, and they are supposed to come here so that she can visit with her cousins.

Miracle of miracles my 'non dog loving' son (figure that one out?) has finally caved in and Jenny is getting a puppy. They have already visited the breeder and picked him out, but he is still too young to come home. Jenny is delighted. She has wanted a dog from the time she first joined this family.

Right now things are positive and we are living and reveling in the moment.

Em, the puppy is a Pomerian.

Well, I have learned to appreciate my daughter's pugs (well, at least one of them.) Guess I can adapt to a Pom. Not certain about my son -
