I have been reading messages in here for a couple years. I finally decided to join.
I raise quail and hatch eggs professionally here in North Dakota.
I mostly hatch out geese, quail, peafowl, pheasants ,emu and fancy chicken breeds for shares, trade ,grain or cash.

I have been hatching out eggs for well over 30 years now and I pretty much have made all the mistakes one can make over the years so I have it down to a science now on how to get those eggs hatched out well lol.

My favorites are bobwhites and tuxedo quail. I currently have a 5 year old tuxedo which is almost unheard of to get a bird that old.
I have a mutant pet quail that lays an egg every 14 hours, she is a bit deformed with her head and oversized. I do not hatch out any of her eggs as I do not think it would be ethical to breed a bird with a deformation of the skull. I am curious to know if anyone else has ever had a bird that lays more then once every 24 hours? She has been doing this for 2 years now.

We have peafowl, wild/tame turkey mixes , mini fainting goats, appaloosas, registered hereford cattle , assorted quail breeds and some emu on the farm.

I was chemical poisoned last summer and I am suffering some long term problems because of it so I am concentrating more in hatching eggs because it is super easy to hatch eggs and does not require alot of lifting or walking. I am not able to train horses for the moment so the income from hatching eggs will come in handy as well.

My family has farmed the same land since 1883 so you can imagine how in love I am with this state, it is the perfect place to raise familys, crops, livestock and pets.

I also am a licensed rescue agent for pitbulls, rottweilers, dobermans and bulldogs, I do ALOT of education and teach people to not believe the media when it comes to BSL. I always have some pits in foster care that were rescued and also have a Great Pyrenees, rottie and neopolitan as pets.

I look forward to meeting other quail people and other farmers and other as well!

Thank you for your welcome!
