I’ve lurked here on and off and YEARS. Probably about time to introduce myself.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my second ever flock. I had hens about 9 years ago and had to give them up when I moved. At long last I’m back in the chook game!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Baker’s dozen, 13! Hopefully all pullets but time will tell on that one.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Black Copper Marans
Speckled Sussex
Welsummer
Easter Egger
Barred Rock
Gold Laced Wyandotte
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I loved everything about having chicken before. I’d sit with them on summer evenings before roosting time and it was the best part of my day, every day.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Sewing/knitting, gardening, cooking, biking, and pole dancing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married, incredible son, stay at home mom, and one big, beautiful dog!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Have lurked for SO LONG. I first came here looking for threads related to zoning because I was living in a no chicken city.
