Hey everyone! Great site, have been following for years and finally got three hens for Easter. All were given to me, one is an EE, I believe my big girl is a Buff and I'm not sure about the light red brown one. My husband built our run by repurposing our unused swing set, which the hooks have been great for hanging. We let them free range daily when we get home from work, they have brought me endless joy during the two weeks I've had them. This Friday my EE started limping, since she's so small I'm hoping it is only a sprain as everything else has remained normal. I'm considering caging, only because she won't stop trying to run and hang with the big girls. My main concern is that it won't heal that way and I haven't let them range to limit her walking. I'm torn because she cuddles with the Buff a lot and Mama seems to coddle her. I'd also like to mention Mama (the Buff) has been crowing every morning this week. Personally I love it, my neighbors haven't complained yet and I like that she is asserting herself as the protector. Thanks to BYC for having such a great site and thanks to everyone in the community for being so helpful, supportive and welcoming! Enjoy a few pics of my girls...

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Cute flock! You can post pictures of your birds in the What Breed/Gender forum for help with figuring out what you have https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this The reddish bird might be something like a Production Red. Do you know how old they are? If the buff is actually crowing, can't tell from the pictures, but would be concerned that it is actually a cockerel.
Limiting the EEs activity should help its leg, if she doesn't seem to be getting better, you might want to cage her to keep her from jumping around and post in the Emergencies forum www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

Thanks! I appreciate the help, I read something new each day trying to learn as much as I can. I've already lined up a separate area in case I need to limit her more. It's supposed to rain the next few days so I'm hoping that will keep her down and healing. I'm going to get better pictures of the red (Collin) to see if they can help too. :)

I would suspect your big Mama is a rooster unless, you are confusing the egg song with crowing. Some hens love to tell the world they just laid an egg. They sorta Bawk, bawk, bagawk!! which is not a crow. If big Mama doesn't lay - yep, she probably is a rooster.

BTW have you examined the foot on your limping bird? Especially the underside to look for bumps or sores - that could be bumble foot. Does she object if you examine legs and feet or shows signs of pain?

Hey Diva! She looks like a hen, doesn't have the fancy back feathers of a roo. the red one started crowing with her this morning. i have two videos but will need to figure out how to post. haven't gotten any eggs yet, they stressed over the relocation i think. i did examine my little girl and couldn't find any signs of bumblefoot. no swelling, sores, black scabs, no leg mites. the joint and leg felt good, she grips with both feet and didn't object to me moving it gingerly however she tries to put as little weight on it as possible. eating great, no lethargy, no crying.
