In the Brooder
I've found a lot of helpful tips and pointers while lurking on this site for the last several months. We have 3 Rhode Island Whites and 3 Black Australorps. One of the BA's laid her first egg just a couple days ago at the ripe ol' age of 16.5 weeks. It's been fun getting to know these ladies and it's a great way to let my 2 youngest children connect to where life and food comes from.

It's always so exciting finding those little treasures and it never gets boring. Raising chickens with kids sure is very rewarding and as you say a great way to teach them about life and where our food comes from.
