Hi, I've read though a bunch of post about sour/impacted croup and how to treat it. I have a 2yr old Rhodes island red. She is on the skinny side. I noticed her croup really full and hard 3 days ago. I checked her the next morning and it had not emptied. Continued to watch her through the day and she stayed hiding under a bush not eating or drinking. I brought her in and started treating her for impacted croup. Coconut oil and stool softer. Massaging it multiple times a day and withheld food. I have given her 1cc of rooster boost ince a day. The size has gone down but it now feels soft like a ball of dough not hard. I dont notice a smell at all but figured I would play it safe and started treating her for sour croup cause its been sitting in there for 3 days now. Ive been using monistat 3 times a day. She's only had a couple poops and they do not look normal. Pretty much white water. She's on the sleepy side but definitely not lifeless. She puts up and pretty good fight anytime I try to administer medicine or massage her croup. My concern is its not emptying and im not making and progress since the first day. Not sure what to do for her next or how to help her though this? Also should add shes not drinking any water on her own. Thanks for any advice or help!
