In medieval times, if a girl wasn't married by the time she was 12, she was considered a burden to eh family and was sent off to become a Nun. AND, she usually had to marry a man around the age of 50 or 60.

My teacher started dating his girlfriend in his freshman year of high school and he's like 50 something and they're still together with kids

My mom and Dad started dating when she was 14 and he was 15 and they never broke up once until they got married. They've been married for 25 years now.
