It is scary. The main reason I became a tech is to find the best doctors and be SURE that every thing was kosher in the back. I have seen some scary places and some really awesome ones too. The best thing to do is know someone who works there lol. Your pup is lucky to have such a loving owner!

Thank you. I am making them let me drop him off the morning of the surgery because Richie has anxiety being away from me. He will be so sad when i leave him there. Its going to kill me. But it kills me more when he cries when his knee pops out too

I love him so much, i felt bad leaving him when i go to work, so we got him his own puppy

They are best buds. I'm glad they are getting him in so soon. I want this behind us. Ever notice that as soon as you save up a few bucks for something you need, something more urgent presents itself that is going to cost exactly that amount

If you can in ANY way take your dog back to the original surgeon, that's what I would do. Not all docs are equal, and it is their skillset that makes the difference in outcome. That said, I have NEVER met a doc that will say they can't "do" a procedure if its something that they think is interesting.

My entire career is centered around orthopaedics... so with absolute sincerity I say go where you know the doc is skilled. It may be a drive, but it will likely be worth it. Pins and screws in animals is NOT the refined art that it is in humans. If you can avoid it, especially in a small dog, that would be best.

My husband had his hours cut for 4 months in early 09, and we were set back using our savings to keep our head above water. We were just barely getting back on track and so i feel lucky we can even do this right now for Richie. I am worried sick over going to a vet i dont know, but richie is afraid to move because he thinks it is going to hurt

So i feel like this is the only option. Like i said, i know a woman that works there, and she speaks highly of the guy, so i am going to have to trust that there is a reason this is working out this way
