...it wasn't intentional. I usually do not wash any of my chickens' eggs, just collect them & store them on the counter, only hand washing the dirty ones right before they're used. But today after removing the laundry from the washer I noticed a few stray bits of some hard material at the bottom of the drum. I had no idea what it could be. Then after drying that load in the dryer I found a handful of crushed egg shell in the lint trap.

??? How did that get in there? Then I realized I had washed my barn jacket (the weather is officially warm now) and there must have been an egg in one of the pockets! The contents must have been completely washed away, nothing was left sticky or tacky. But the eggshell was left behind, cleaned, dried & crushed.

I wouldn't recommend this method for cleaning eggs, not even for the most fastidious...
 
Well if your gonna do it this way i"d wash more than one at a time unless you've got an awful lot of clothes to wash.
