I went to the feed store and asked for 50 lbs of laying pellets instead of 50 lbs of chick starter. My mind was on other things...I didn't notice my mistake until I got home and opened the bag. My chicks are only 2 1/2 months old, but they range free during the day so they have access to bugs and what ever else suites their fancy. (They visit the blueberry bushes first thing in the morning and again just before their bed time)

Is it OK to feed up what I bought or should I go back for chick starter?

Go back to chick starter! Layer feed has more calcium than chicks need, and their protein requirements are different

Thanks, will do. The laying pellets will keep inside the house for now.
