Thanks to Missprissy for her instructions & Aran for answering my wiring question. I love it and I can't wait to get my eggs. They should be here any day now. The new incubator is so roomy and its cycling on and off, fan is running great. Did I say I love it? It's tall enough that the light is above the chicks so they won't get burnt, and they will have plenty of walking/stumbling around room after hatching. I decided to go with a red bulb so that its not so bright at night. The other one I made lit the room up to much at night. Here is a couple pictures. Thanks again guys for your help.

Nice bator! I have to ask (due to my own problems with these things) about your thermometer and hygrometer. What kind are they? Where did you get them? Are they expensive? How do you know if they are accurate? Thanks! I wish you great success with your hatches!

The large grey one (acurite) is from walmart it was $11 and the 2 round ones are from pet supermarket they were around $4 ea. I had 4 different ones in my first incubator to start with to test which ones read closest to each other. The two in the picture are the one that read the same. I have hatched a few chicks with my smaller incubator and had great results. So I have it running now and getting good reading so far. I need to cut out a couple hole in the cooler for air vents. I just haven't done it yet. Wanted to see what the humidty would be without them. Right now the temp is 100.6* and humidty is 66% with a little water in the ice tray.

Excellent job on the bator!

I still have to wait until next week before I can set eggs.

I am so excited. I keep looking through breed photos and can't even begin to decide what I want to try as my first hatch. I am leaning heavily toward BO and Delawares.

Good luck with yours!

great job mate...the bator does work as is evident by rednecks great success and the new arrivals in my bator...and we have all saved a bunch of money!
