What time does it usually start? EST or CST? Myself and a friend might come check it out sometime

I know in KY you have to have papers for out-of-state birds, is it the same in TN?

Usually sellers get there about 6 to 6:30am and will stay until about 9. Eastern.

No, this is not the sort of place you will need papers. For that reason, I don't let others touch my birds unless I have already got the cash in hand and they are taking them home.

That early? REALLY? I think we'd have to spend the night somewhere to get there that early, google says it's about 3 1/2 hours' drive!

Plus I'm on central time, so that would be super early! We'll see, thanks for the info

I haven't gone in many weeks, but it generally happens year round. I once drove by in December comming home from a night shift job... there were just three cars but they were there selling and trading!

It would be a safe bet that the turn out would be decent. The best turnouts are in the spring, of course.

I went to the last 2 sales and the turnout was significantly less. Mostly sellers and hardly any buyers. I sold nothing at either of the last two sales so won't be back until Spring. One of the guys at the sale before last said that the birds I couldn't sell now to save my life would have been sold in a heartbeat in spring.

Yeah I agree. Spring time is "chicken fever" time and it is always much easier to sell anything then. people buy up new breeds then... not so much this time of year.

On THAT note: I'll be going to Mrganton NC to buy some birds on Saturday. Just so info for you to think about. There is a show there with 1000+ entries. I'm going to buy. Not even showing anything. Just buy.

You know its funny...I've had the exact opposite happen. In the Spring, I sold absolutely nothing. Lately, I can't keep things for more than a few hours once I list them. My place has been filled with people buying chickens, guineas, guinea keets and ducks. Weird huh?
