Maggots! emergency!

Are the maggots themselves the cause of the wound or is there a wound first that the maggots are attacking?

The medical maggots are Blowfly maggots and are prescription. They can be used for animals. They are disease free. Here's the link: http://www.monarchlabs.com/support_faq.htm I would not leave these in there.

Oh, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up!

You need to spray it with maggot killer then bring her inside so more flies can't get in her.

It's both sometimes. A hen that had diareaha on her butt might attract flies. Yet, when there's a wound the flies just make it worse.

I've got this going on now! It is SOOOO gross, but thankfully there are many threads about it. I've got screw worm spray and peroxide that I've used. I really hope she gets better!! :(
