Maggots in chicken wounds

Are most of the wounds on or around her neck? Those wounds need to be soaked or flushed with warm soapy water, saline, or Epsom salts water. Table salt 2 tsp dissolved in each quart of water will make saline. If necessary, use a magnifier and tweezers to get all of the maggots off. This soak or flush must be repeated several times in the next day to get all of the newly hatched maggots. Keep her separated inside, warm, and offer electrolytes from a cup often. If she will eat wet chicken feed or scrambled egg, that would be good.
Thank you for the saline instructions, I was trying to type them but couldn't for the life of me remember!

okay! here is what I did. shes still doing good. I was completely freaking out lastnight, I tried peroxide which I read does kill maggots. to no avail they were still alive. I threw her in the sink with some warm water and flushed it out. over and over and over again. to no avail. my last option was straight alcohol. so thats what I did i poored alcohol over her wound (she didnt do anything just sat there, hard to believe I know) they died within minutes, and I sat there and watched it for a little while and I didnt see any. I flushed the wound out again. This morning I checked on her and I only saw one or two squirmin around. So I repeated everything. and now I dont currently see anything right now. Im just hoping they didnt make their way into her cavity.

One that looks like its healing fine without the maggots is right below her skull she has her skin ripped away ect. The one that was maggot infested is on her neck close to her body/ when I flush it out I can feel that the water, peroxide ect is going around her neck its self and out the otherside. Like a circular motion (under the skin). I resorted to alcohol as I have nothing in my house atm and it was late at night. Im headed to the store to pick up supplies as it was late at night and everything closes pretty early. She seems much chipper this morning and she did eat most of her cantaloupe throughout the night.

Also there are fly eggs that will hatch today, so go after them again! And alcohol is pretty painful on wounds, do you have permethrin for treating mites and lice? It will work too.
And look for more eggs and maggots in more areas today!
'Fly strike' is awful!

I will check her and flush it out every two hours. In my 4 yrs of having chickens I have never had to deal with lice and mites. but i will be ordering that right now just so I have it. I know alcohol is very painful. again when i did it she just sat there, i feel really horrible for it but at least the 95 of the maggots are gone. I havent seen anymore other that the three i saw again. and got them of course.
