So true! When our male dogs peed on the hickory in the back yard, there was no 'tree fungus' growing on the trunk from that height down.
Not what I'd want in waterer though...

Ya'll really made me research pee lol. The average PH of pee (human) is 6 which is just slightly more acidic than neutral. Bacteria don't grow well in lower PH or really high PH. Vinegar is 2 and bleach is 12 on the PH scale. As far as I can tell pee is just sterile and slightly acidic like milk.
So for now, I can't see why there is any reason pee would keep algae from growing.
I'll add that my Dalmation's urine had a very high pH, because of his Rx diet, necessary to keep his health issues manageable. As I recall it tended to be around 9.
