I also noticed yesterday that his (her?) little head shines green in the sunshine. The body feathers are still inky black. I tried to capture the greenish color in a photo, but it was much more obvious in person.

Know what, ours have the same green shine on head and wings. Surprised me because no where do they mention that when I researched Magpies.
 
Hi, I have three sweet 5 week old babies I chose from a mixed straight run at a feed store when they were a few days old. I thought I was getting a Pekin, a Crested Buff and a Magpie. Now I'm thinking I have a Pekin, a Crested Indian Runner and maybe a Magpie? I'm curious about her/his feet. Other Magpie ducks I've seen in photos all have orange feet. This one has black legs and black "toes" but the webbing is light in color.
It's not a magpie it's an Ancona
