Hi- I'm new to ducks, and have just acquired now 4-day-old magpie ducklings. The breeder I got them from just feeds chicken grower, but I've read that adding in rabbit pellets is a good thing for them. I have their water set up over a paint tray with a paint grid on top and this seems to keep the water mess down. I have a heat lamp for them because they couldn't figure out the heat plate my chicks use. When can they start exploring outside, and what is best to feed them? Thank you :)

I would not feed the Rabbit pellets, totally not necessary. If you can’t get a duckling starter, you can feed them chick starter with some added supplements. Chick starter doesn’t contain sufficient amounts of Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to support growth in Ducklings. If you can find something like Purina Flock Raiser, that would be ideal.
