I had a blue Faverolles bantam baby hatch under a broody!!

SEVERAL days late. I though for sure this first time broody had killed ALL the eggs!

You can just ignore the broody-poo splatter behind the chick!!

Here's my little EE (or maybe OE?) chick-sicle still doing great!

They'd have you believe I never change their water, but I just cleaned it about an hour ago.

I had one that was under a broody and somehow got out from under momma. When I found it, it was limp and COLD to the touch. I brought it in and stuck it in front of a heater and rubbed on it. I thought it was dead. About 5 min later it moved, so I kept at it. Then I popped it into the incubator for 6 hours. All better now!

Cute chick-sicle! And I think I would like to visit Lake Apache.

It is day 21 here, since I am doing a semi-Easter-ish hatch. Since I only had ONE fertile egg (of 20), I've kind of lost hope.
This afternoon, I heard a chirp! Three hours later, I realized the chick had pipped in the wrong end of the egg! It was upside-down in a cut-down carton.

I broke all rules and quickly slipped my hand in and set the egg on the wire floor. I thought it had already drowned or something, as all was still and quiet.
Since then, there is more chirping. I really hope this chick can make it out of the wrong end of the egg! I don't want to help unless it is absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, my new Brinsea advance arrived today, and alicefelldown is shipping me some eggs!
