I candled tonight so I could do it in the dark, having to lockdown in the morning. I am VERY happy to report that out of 24 shipped eggs from the other end of the country, 20 are going into lockdown. One appears to be a late developer, but there is life there nonetheless!!!!

Update on my hatch...

Buckeyes 35 eggs set - lost 19 - down to 16
CuckooMarans 12 set - lost 3 - down to 3
MottledHoudans 24set-lost 15 - down to 9
Welsummer 24 set- lost 3 - down to 21
White Silkie 23 set - lost 4 - down to 19
Buff Silkie 24 set - lost 4 - down to 20
Blue Silkie 36 set - lost 16 - down to 20
Total of 178 eggs set- lost 64 - down to 114
mine don't go into Lockdown until Thursday evening and due to hatch Easter Sunday

Edited to add... most seemed to have never developed had a few bloodrings and 2 late quitters...I'm still very happy with the results so far, just hope for a good hatch

these were local eggs not shipped, I didn't have to buy them I am hatching for a friend he gets 60% of the chicks and I get 40%...

I can't wait for Easter

Exactly!!! I have NEVER had this good of a lockdown rate as this. I am stoked!!!
