Me too... and I suspect this is better than the horrid crimped hair in the 80s that was "cool".

Oh how sad, I remember when I was in school that was sooooooo cool and my hair was way to long for it to work.
I can't imagine wanting to toast my hair every morning now!

Kathy those are some beautiful birds and if I had the room for them I would be going for those eggs. I hope that another serious breeder gets them and keeps that standard going! I swear one more thread starts up with the difference between buying from a breeder and buying from a hatchery all you have to do is post pictures of those birds as an example. Nothing against hatchery birds, I have some myself but WOW!

The funny thing now is that they toast their hair by using flat irons to get their hair super straight!

I don't know... from your avatar I'd think you're not really nerdy... maybe part of the metal heads?

I was a goth chick myself in high school...

Now that I have a "real" job I have to look normal(ish)!

You can try that but I doubt it will work.. Sounds like she really wants to be a mommy.. I would get a few chicks and slip them under her at night...

I have a broody that sat and tried to hatch out a batch. She always got off the eggs for too long and none of them made it. I took the eggs away and she still sits to this day in the nest with no eggs. I have just made it part of my "chores" to take her out and push her little butt out the pop door and make her go outside for awhile and then she eats and drinks and if I go back out there in a few hours she will be back in the nest. I block the nest and she picks another one.

I tried to move her and give her some chicks and she freaked out and went back to the nest. I can't give her chicks in the nests that she likes because they are 2 feet off the ground. ughhhh, I feel your pain. I really just ignore her now and take her out of the nest everyday.

Well, I think the awesome weather we had Saturday convinced my broody to quit the nest. I took her out of the basket and lugged her out to the manure pile where her flock mates were busy scratching about and she never went back! Knowing her she'll be back at it in a few weeks

She's been broody 3 times and she isn't even a year old yet!

Oh, good luck with the Silkied AMs! I've been waiting for some of those too, but I'll not bid against you. (this time

) I'll settle for a few from CrystalCreek and fill up the rest with my own EEs and BBS AMs. I figure that's enough to worry about on my first hatch. I'm planning to set this weekend and hatch on the Equinox for Spring Chicks! Anyone else?

Oh my gosh! I remember the days of crimped hair! DH's first words EVER to me were "Your hair looks like my dog's". I swear! We met on a Friday night at Carl's Jr in highschool and those were the first words ever spoken to me. Let's just say it WAS NOT love at first sight. I believe I threatened to do him bodily harm. BTW I think that was the last time I ever crimped my hair.

Good morning everybody. 40 days until we set!

61 days to hatch!

This week I say goodbye to all of the extra roos from the NYD hatch...

I'm keeping the wheaten marans, a BW Ameraucana... reminds me of Levi that SH hatched out, and I'm keeping all of the Icelandics till I decide which one is the prettiest roo.

See that is why I had to set some the other day. Just couldn't take those hatchaholic DT's any more! I can quit any time I want to!
