Reminds me a lot of a pit bull we had about 6 years ago. He was a blue nosed pit bull all white with beautiful blue eyes. He was illegal where we lived in FL, so we used to tell people he was an American Bulldog. I really miss that dog.

Thank you; and it's a shame the job the media has done, misinforming the public about the APBT.

Yes. That's why we had to get rid of him. A neighbor figured it out and reported us. Very sad time for my family. My kids were inconsolable. He was the sweetest dog and a part of our family.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with the 'misinforming' part of that. You make it sound like (at least to me) the media is totally wrong. Just like anything else, the media reports about the 'bad' things more than the good. I agree that most APBT are wonderful dogs, but there are some exceptions. My dad has one that has killed at least 3 of his other dogs, yet he won't get rid of it. He says the dog IS a 'good' dog and only does this because the other dogs growl at him. I don't know how dad would know that, because he's never been there when the dog has killed another, but in my opinion this is not a 'good' pit bull. This is a pit bull doing what pit bulls are notorious for, a 'good' one is one that lets other dogs walk all over him or her. But the media is not 'wrong', they just like to report the drama.

Steve, great looking dogs and they both look like they enjoy the competitions. How often do you do those?
Candling the Brahma eggs tonight and going into lockdown tomorrow. Can't wait to see the chicks!

True enough. No one reports all the little dogs that are the bane of postal carriers and meter readers everywhere.

Personally I don't think it's unwise to be aware of breeds with a specific trait that may be more of a threat than others. You wouldn't get an Australian Cattle dog and trust them not to be a little tough on sheep. Pit Bulls were (and some still are) bred to kill dogs, so it's reasonable to expect that some might if precautions aren't taken. Illegal? No, I don't think that's fair. Don't blame the dog, blame the handler. It is the owners responsibility to deal with their animal's behavior. We did have to put down a German Shepherd because he had poor social skills.

Steve your dogs are very nice and they do look like they are enjoying the work. Biggest problem with most dogs is they get bored from lack of purpose.
