I can relate! I get at least 4 dozen eggs a day now, but awhile back when one of my customers came by for eggs, my daughter told him, "We don't have any eggs. My mom has lost her mind." I had just put them all in the incubator.

We rarely have eggs in the house. I sell them all and DH gets upset when he can't have any to eat. They are for my customers you know.

Send your extra customers this way. I got home from phoenix to 5.5 dozen "selling" eggs in the fridge. Boyfriend had gotten rid of 4 dozen during the week. Plus I had 18 in there "to be blown out or hard boiled" (whichever comes first) collected the day before I left. Then the last 3 days they've laid over 2 dozen a day. I can't keep up even with eating, selling for eating and hatching and blowing out.

PS it's a good thing I've got 9 more chicks ready to lay in about 6-8 weeks, 3 more young chicks in the basement brooder and 18 eggs on order for Easter... I mean, I think I need more chickens to lay more eggs...

Well the cat story continues. You all have to go read the updates on my thread.

While I had 5 men with Bud Kights running through my yard, my grand daughter noticed an egg on the ground of one of the runs. I put our christmas tree (was only about 5 feet high in there and I;ve been shakinf off the needle once a week or so. We went in to get the one egg next to it and I could see through some branches. Been really windy here lately. There were my green eggs from my EE! There was 13 of them under there and I have looked there a lot, but never founf them. Brought them all in and they are next to the bator, but thinking about it again, I'm only setting the 1 fresh one. It was still warm. I can just imagine what might happen in the bator if I set old eggs. Yuck.

Now I can probably have OEs to add to my Easter hatch, since she has been in with my BCM and WM.

Wish I could afford the eggs for the breeds the stupid cat got yesterday. OH well, I have my own eggs now and another color too!

NoseyChickens, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to you and your family. Also, my younger brother is now in the Marines. My family is still getting used to the military lifestyle.

SteveH - Thank you for the welcome!

Mahonri, I’m glad your daughter is on the mend. I’m sure she’ll get right back into the swing of things when she gets back to school.

Karimw, your spring chickies are ridiculously cute!

I'm posting from D.C.!!!!

I'm in D.C. For the next week. I've seen the Capital building, the Newseum, the library of congress, jFk airport, and tons more I can't remember right now. i'm so excited and also so tired. It's a three hour time difference here. I'm staying at hostel international and I love it here. I've met a few great people and it is so awesome to be here in the hostel in D.C.!

Had 2 Sumatras hatch about a week ago, one blue and one black, also a Peepers chick. Thus comes the 4th generation of Peepers chicks. I also hatched out 5 bantam EE's and 4 mutts.

Ahhh... now that I see you're wanting them for the Easter Hatch, I'll see if I can find you some more in the morning before I mail.....hope you have great luck with them. I have issues hatching ducks, lol. And if you're curious, I didnt mention in the post, but these ducks are all from Holderreads Waterfowl farm, I bought them last spring.

I also think I know what I will be hatching for this. I am getting some of SteveH's cornish project birds, and hopefully, a dozen white Ameraucanas he's getting for me. I'll also be sticking in some of my Blue Wheaton Am roo over easter egger.... just for fun.
