ChooksChick, unless Mahonri disagrees, I think your contest is different than the one that NoseyChickens is going to do. For the NYD hatch the funniest chicken pictures were just pictures that people took of their chickens doing something funny or silly. It wasn't the captions that made them funny per se. I think your contest would be a lot of fun too!
I don't want to confuse anyone though- and as an easily confused person, I think I'll keep the flapper!
Nosey is psychic, though, and needs to stay out of my head!!!
I am requesting Week #3, and again, want the best crowing picture (because some folks weren't able to get their Roos to crow for the camera, here's another opportunity)! Winner of the last Rooster Crowing contest must come up with a different photo (if participating this time) but other NYD Hatch entries can be re-submitted for everybody's enjoyment and competition.
Must be a REAL rooster, no photoshopping, no images taken from commercial and/or professional sites, can belong to the entrant OR a friend, family member or other live person who gives you permission to use the photo. We want BYC roosters, y'hear? If you don't have a rooster, ask a friend or neighbor WITH a rooster if you can take pictures ... Or if they have a bona-fide rooster crowing photo to lend you. Roosters may be living or memorialized.
Prize is a solar-powered Rooster yard ornament. Really cute in a cheesy sort of way. (After all, real roosters don't glow at night...)
For anyone wanting to enter Linda's contest who doesn't own a roo or know someone who does, I have four that I am willing to rent out for pictures. It is my new buisness venture called Rent-a-Roo! I will rent all four at the same time mainly because they are only three months old and only one of them is crowing and I don't know which one. If you would like to rent my roo's just PM me and we can discuss the many important "stipulations" that I have (like they can't come back!)
Anybody near Sacramento needing a crowing rooster, I am opening a Rent-a-Roo franchise, as well- with same stipulations - and you will have quite a variety of breeds from which to "rent" your roo.
I'm still taking a beating from this bronchial infection; I might have pushed myself too hard over the weekend.
Evidently I missed FedEx Friday while at the doctor, Saturday while at the weight pull, and they must not have even sent it out yesterday because it [my new bator] was "back" in the depot before 3:00......................... I was home for all except 30 minutes before then. Without it, I may have way too many eggs for setting this weekend. It supposedly went out again this morning at 6 something; I desperately want to go to town for medicine; but waiting patiently [not] for that hopefully undamaged bator to show up.
