Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

My broody duck is on 11 eggs not sure exactly when hers will be due but she is a Muscovy and has been sitting for a few weeks and they have a 35 day incubation period and I set 13 chicken eggs in the bator for the Easter hatch.

I have 2 Key West hens that both went broody at the same time (a few days apart) awhile back. Then both had thier babies hatch the same day!! They have 17 babies between them and they have been sharing mothering skills lol. At night they sit on the bottom of the coop in the corner on guard puffed up together with all thier chicks under them. The key west group seems to be raising the babies as a team and the other 2 non-broody "Auntie" hens scratch for the babies and call them. Yesterday I saw the rooster feeding a baby chick with his beak. I will try to get some new pics...
Here's some pics when they were first hatching out chicks together.

ADORABLE!!! If they hatched during April please PM me to be part of the contest I am running for Broody hatch! See instructions on contest post. I am allowing any broody hatch that hatches at least one chick before the easter hatch closes. I know we don't have 100% control of who goes broody when... if ever...

How come she's not snarling at you? You sure she's seriously broody?

My broody banty is evil incarnate and due next Monday. She's sitting on 3 eggs (after removing the non-developing ones earlier this week): phoenix x nn, speckled sussex x nn, EE x nn. My luck they're gunna be all roosters.

Too Funny just found this thread by accident. Set 8 red/black sex link eggs under a broody silkie on April 2nd. Never hatched before...but this silkie has sat on nothing for 3 weeks or more in the past so hopefully she will sit tight:D
