I just got the funniest visual of shaking the eggs to see what is inside them. Wierd I know.
Great [or sick] minds think alike.
I was at an Amish run chicken auction, and there were LOTS of eggs for sale. Well an Amish guy opened a carton and took out an egg and shook it. I watched him do this with about 5 eggs, and I asked him why he was shaking the eggs. He said to find out if they are rotten. I must have looked at him like he was crazy because he explained that the rotten eggs will jerk/slosh when shaken.
I was fortunate enough to have missed that originally......................... and sorry I clicked on the url this time around. That picture is just.............................................. wrong.
Harry is so cute!! What could be more appropriate for an Easter Hatch than bunny pics?!
SCG, s.u.r.r.e.n.d.e.r t.o t.h.e b.r.o.o.d.i.e.s......you're fighting a losing battle...the days are getting longer...the temps are warming...the roosters are harrassing them...let them sit...I tell you!!
I went and checked the Muscovy nest while Abby was off
24 that's right, twenty four eggs in the nest. She's been on them solid since the 24th, on and off for four or five days before that. She had them covered with feathers and hay and I couldn't believe how well she "covered them up" while she went out and how many there were. I called apc and asked her if she wanted some Scovy eggs, I had 13 more that Pearl and Ariel have layed. No way I'm gonna let them sit another nest until I see how many hatch.
I will not candle...I will not candle...I will not candle!
