Again - due to extreme business, this will be brief and I will post pix later. My hatch:
12 light sussex (shipped) ZERO hatched.
9 silkies and sizzles - 3 healthy chicks
6 BCM - 3 healthy babies
3 EE -2 healthy babies
9 Wheaten Americaunas - 3 healthy babies
I am exactly that mix of happy and sad that hatching always brings for me. Happy with chicks, a bit sad over the losses.

Also, I tried something new. I have such a hard time with raising humidity in my incubator. We hooked up a rice cooker with water in it. the lid has a hole in it and from that hole, we put a piece of rubber tubing to take steam to the incubator. Worked like a charm. If I had to open the incubator, I just plugged in the rice cooker, let the water come to a boil, and immediately turned off the rice cooker, the humiditiy level didn't drop at all. My husband is the king of jimmy-wrigging contraptions.

Just the goose eggs left: seven eggs, 1 out, two pipped, and the rest just sitting there. These will take F O R E V E R. Plus, had a mad afternoon trying to stop my brother in law's huge pig (called Doris) from breaking in to my garden. She was trying to push through the hedge after flattening the fence behind it. Silly pig. She must weigh as much as an average bull, she is totally massive. Am NOT going out to try and get a pic of her breaking and entering, I am terrified of the pig. If she gets in she'll just walk through all my poultry fencing to get at the chicken food so I am praying she stays where she is. Bleedin' pig.

I did it! My lone chick hatched!

That gives me a hatch rate of 5%, which may sound bad to some, but the alternate was zero, so I'm pretty happy.
Off to buy chick starter!

I can hear chirping from my bator. and the quail eggs are rocking I guess whating tell tomorrow for lock down was not what they planed. But I am hooping they hatch shoot I dont care if they come today so long as they hatch. My turkeys that got send a week to soon to be set for the easter hatch did not hatch yet. I dont think they will

tonight I will be opening them up to see what happened and tossing them. But I was just so exsited when I went to turn the eggs this morning that I had to share. I think something is going to hatch
