Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Ahaha....How bout we forget the holidays and just go head and start hatching full blast 24/7 lol (thats how the chicken math starts

)

Somebody should have planned an Earth day hatch or Arbor day one, those are the nearest holidays, the next one after that is Mothers Day in May, they should definetly have someone start planning that one. We should always let the Easter hatch be the biggest one though, because chick time is Easter time and they both go together so well.

I won a prize too! Notinoz pmed me to tell me I won a small consolation prize. I'm not sure if it is the cute little crocheted chicken (I LOVE anything crocheted) but I sure appreciate it no matter what it is!

Thank you Notinoz!!!

Thank you to all the folks that worked so hard on this hatch-a-thon!!! I could never have kept up with you all! You are all amazing folks!

Cinco de mayo hatch started last week for turkeys and chickens; those setting chickens will set them this weekend!!! Mostly because turkeys thrive better with chicken buddies to show them the food and water.

Congratulations Silkymom!!!

Yes. Some of us live on the other thread Incubators Anonymous because we have a hatching problem that we love and enable each other!

I was sooo worried about my little serama...she is a fraction of the size of others and she does get trampled, but boy...this little thing is fast!!! It can zip around the bigger clumsier birds!

kvmommy I don't know if you were worried because she is a bantam or because she is growing a little slower but I have one (the one I had to bandaid the legs on because of splay leg) that was lagging behind the others. Now that his bandaid is off, and he can move freely, he is catching up quick. Size doesn't really matter, they figure out "pecking order" and your serama may wind up in charge. My poults took months to realize that they were bigger than the chickens. The chickens used to pick on them till one day they realized that they didn't have to put up with it any more. A few pecks to the heads of pestering chickens (no blood was drawn) and the chickens learned to leave them alone.
