... and I'm back. All of the lawns mowed, Grow out pens cleaned... got 10 eggs out of 15 today. Not bad, but not a fertile one in the bunch. No roos. Watered all of the grass... DIDN'T get the pool cleaned... perhaps next weekend. We are only a month away from swimming weather. It hit 84 today.

I've decided that the reason my HUGE SLW that I hatched from Kathy's eggs can't lay eggs is because she's stopped up in the behind. She'll get in the nest box and strain and strain but an egg never makes it out.

I've yet to see a hen survive that problem... and she is so beautiful.

I didn't know hens could even have that problem

My son helped me build an egg candler today. We built it with 1x8's, a 200 watt bulb and a built in dimmer switch. I will post pictures later.

I'm thinking I should talk my dad into helping me build one.... after more coops are built. He wants to kill me, I know he does.

He says I'm like my grandmother all over again. I'm just not as bad as her yet. She used to buy chicks 50 at a time every few months. I wish I could do that.
