Went to look for my other bread books and they are not there--maybe DH took them to work. So until the books turn up, here is a recipe from my FIL.

Cream of Broccoli Soup
Serves 4-6

2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup diced leeks or scallions
1/3 cup diced onions
1/3 cup diced celery
1 cup diced broccali
3 tablespoons flour
3 cups chicken stock
salt, pepper, and thyme to taste
1/3 cup white wine
1 cup light cream


Melt butter in sauce pan and add leeks, onions and celery and broccali. Saute about 5 minutes over low heat so butter won't brown. Blend in flour then add chicken stock. Cook until boiling. Add salt, pepper thyme, and wine. Let simmer about 20 minutes until vegetables are tender. Puree in blender. Return to low heat and add cream just before serving.

You gotta love the sound of them happily eating their dinner. One of the better sounds in this whole world. No turkey egg today but the chicken girls are staying up on the production. I got nine and selected the best out of them for the hatch. I just keep putting more in until Renee's Konza eggs get here and then I will have to choose the 12 +/- that go in with hers. Dang, who got the Sportsman? Yeah here. I was eyeballing the Brinsea 48 hatchers. Just can't justify it right now.
