First dsqard calls me obsessive, then I find out I'm breaking rules. What a totally

embarrassing day. I really need a do-over.

This is my last hatch of the year... until Mahonri's NYD 2013.

Yeah right

I think I could talk you into joining the hatch I do after this one so I can get some poults and I will set chicken eggs with them so they have smart buddies to hang around with. Come on all the COOL kids are gonna do it.

To jump right in on key points . . . .

How well did the temps stay close to 99.5-100 degrees?

Did the eggs get turned 3-5 times a day?

What was the humidity thru the dry hatch?

Are these shipped eggs or from your own hens?
I had three thermometers that said 98, 99.5, 100 pretty regular. Occasionally the mid one was 100 The eggs were in a turner till day 18. At around day 7 they changed electrical poles and we did by have power for about an hour and a half. But the temp only got down to 87. The hydrometer I used until day 19 said 20% for the dry but when I put in the water and it steamed up the windows it only went up to30, so I bought a new one and it ranged around 75.

The frenzy is really bad, though...I started looking with longing at the pile of eggs from the Eating Egg Coop in my backyard...caught myself counting the hodge-podge...and then I mentally calculated what the Hodge-Progeny would look like and reconsidered...

OK the zebamaroo is actually pretty awesome but the emulrus (I couldn't figure out the tail for the emulrus) is UGLY.
