Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Well, my egg count may go up by another dozen, but I won't know until tomorrow or Saturday. Looks like I'm in for a bit of egg tetris.

Until then I'm working on some pics for the holiday photo contest.

Well, DD took it very well. Amazingly as I was walking in here I got distracted and walked out on the back porch to find the missing rabbit hopping toward me. Diesel has come home from out of the woods. YAY

We are sad to lose Rex but I am relieved to know that Diesel is safe and sound.

Yeah!!! That's what happened to my rabbits! Feels so wonderful to have at least one survive the attack! Glad Diesel is home!

That took so long to catch up.

I'll call my nurse tomorrow and beg her to write me out some silvadene. I need it, no matter what it costs. I've got three spots that are just raw, red meat and they hurt. It felt so good to step into the ICE COLD pool after work today.

Day off tomorrow... LOTS TO DO

  • Clean the pool
  • Clean the grow out pens.
  • Buy Laree a camera
  • Plant some corn
  • FIND A TURNER! I set my turner up at lunch, got home and I'd burned the motor out because the trays caught on one another. I knew I should have gotten the bator out LAST WEEK. Guess I can always hand turn.... just call me Mahonri the broody.
  • Call the PO first thing in the AM to see if Renee's eggs have arrived. Tracking says they are still in KC.

Well I have 3 packages of eggs here....still haven't opened them yet.

WhiteMountainRanch.

I think ca's hubby will bring me some cubalaya and sulmtaler eggs tomorrow from Wickenburg.

I need to know how many are in Renee's box so I know if I have to run overflow eggs up to Larree's!

Off to teach my class and then I'm veggin' in this bed, finishing my to do list and watching the bators until Monday AM.

Hey everybody! I just got my eggs in the mail today (

Absolutely Okay. I posted a few pages back about this very topic. When I'm gathering eggs to set myself, I let them accumulate for three weeks and they still hatch. I always like to set several dozen of the same breed each time so I wait till I have a full tray. Still have great hatch rates.

I may have too many eggs. My cabinet isn't ready yet and I have 3 styrofoam bators which means only 3 turners. I may have to stack eggs. Is it allowed to move eggs from one bator to another after pics are taken and posted? I was thinking when the cabinet is finished and tested to move the eggs to it and put the ones stacked in another turner on another shelf in the cabinet. Would that be allowed? If not i'll just stack.

Thank you so much Ruth! That puts my mind at ease, every other thread I've read about it said 24 hours was the max. Good to know its not!

I have broodies too so maybe I won't have to stack. All 3 ladies are broody and in one box. They just fiished hatching 3 chicks. I had to take the babies away because they where going to squash them. All 3 hens wanted to sit on them. So they're sharing a brooder with some GL polish
