Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

But I don't think I will put these eggs in it but start some new ones. I do see some veining in some but they are EE eggs and some are dark brown eggs so I can't see into them. Some of them have the air sack off to one side more than in the middle. Not too bad off. Anyway that is my up date on the eggs for now. I hate losing eggs.

Why toss them out, I'd give them a chance to see if they continue developing.

I've been having incubator issues too...all 3 of them! But amazingly I have a lot of healthy embryos. Don't give up and don't worry.

I was digging through my photo files looking for cute baby photos and came across these.

For those of you that like the naked neck look, how about using a little genetic diversity?

I took these pictures two years ago at the Embera Indian village deep in the jungle in Panama. I always end up following around native animals in villages to take photos. I've got pictures of some pretty sad looking village dogs & pigs from various countries. The skinniest pig I've ever seen in my whole life was in a village in Brazil along the Amazon. It was tied up by a tiny piece of string knotted to one leg.

Thank you Kathy, I took a little jaunt to Europe. You see I have an exchange student coming and she is from Denmark so I wanted to get acquainted with the culture. At least I think that's what happened. I found my icon over there but it has been re-purposed into someone new and equally exciting so I re-created the wheel and am back home where I can fuss over the bator and take endless pictures of the new puppy

Now I am scared. My home made incubator is hicupping. The thermostat doesn't turn the light off all the way every time. Some times it just flickers it. When it does that the temp goes up because it is already supposed to turn off. If I go over and hit the side of the incubator it will turn off. But I am not awake all nite to do that. When I get up in the morning it is usually fine but sever time during the day it will do that. It has gone up to 101. something before I get to it to hit it. I don't know how high it has gone in the nite..........sigh..... I am getting a new incubator tomorrow that has the set temp and electronic read out.

Sorry your incubator is hiccupping. I had mine do that last fall--light bulb dimmed, but not shut off. I never figured out why this happened. It had worked well for a long time.
