This Easter hatch I'll be setting some special EE eggs, already got some in the incubator right now due to hatch Valentine's day, but, before I set them I auctioned and sold a dozen to someone out of state. The results would end up anything from wheaten, brown-red, laced, spangled, mottled, tolbunt, to even buff colored EE's but, I just have to say, -
Check it out! A nearly tolbunt colored EE! This little adorable chick hatched from a batch I sold to Lagunitas and I'm in love. I'll be expecting some myself in a week, then some more on Easter but in the mean time I love seeing hers. The chocolate coloration seen there is either poor lacing or a sort of EE partridgey type coloration, the white splashes up the face and breast and thighs are the mottling.
Here's a Tolbunt Polish chick for comparison:
More white (though less desired) and lighter brown main body showing better true lacing.
Just had to share the excitement, as the color of these chicks is soo cute, and I should expect to have quite a few this Valentine's and Easter.
