I have to have surgery on my wrist in the morning. They set it completely wrong.

Oh, that just about breaks my heart. You poor thing.

But at least they caught the error. So I suppose that's good news. But still.

I'm so upset right now! I came back to the house (from a house over from me) and my eggs were cold! It's too early to tell if I lost the whole hatch. I was sabotaged by the Xbox. My brother took it out of my room and plugged it in in his room and bumped the plug. The temp went back up pretty fast, but I won't know anything until next week. I swear I'll cry if I lost them. I NEED to know what those 2 light colored eggs hatch as.

Hopefully it was only as long as a mother hen would be off her eggs. I'd say there's a pretty good chance they're okay.

Chocolate is a black with a modifier gene called silver. Without knowing the fathers color square, he could produce chocolate (silver), black or red. Since the mom is red, she has to be homozygous red (black is dominate) she can produce anything. Now, if the father was homozygous silver and black all the pups would be chocolate. Muddy enough for ya??? LOL!!!

I don't know HOW it came out black? She's a RED Golden Retriever and he's a gorgeous CHOCOLATE Lab.

This little boy is going to have long hair like it's mama.

Good luck with surgery. Its been a number of years since my wrist surgeries. Kicked by a horse turned my wrist into a pyramid! LOL Don't let the doctors immobilize your hand. Still needs to be mobile or else the ligaments/tendons freeze up. I also opted to have a spinal so I could supervise the work of the specialist who had to fix the first doctors work. Good luck-- do ask all the questions you want of the doctors; you are hiring them to do the work. Really. Good luck !!!! I'm sure it will go well and you will get your hand back to feeding chickens soon . . . . and get cooking again.

It's been a busy day!
Kim, I hope all goes well with the surgery in the morning.

Raz, I think the eggs will be fine...it wasn't that long so the eggs couldn't have been too cold. Get busy on your "Egg Art" entry.....you know you want those eggs!

Our forecast changed from 4-8 inches of snow down to 2-4 inches this afternoon. We've only had rain so far! It seems the storm tracked farther north!
