I've been selling my straight runs at $2 when they are a day or two old. So far, I've sold every one I can come up with to the first person that calls. They are excited and always tell me my prices are the best. Truth be known, I enjoy hatching them so much and can't keep them all, I'd pay them $1 each to take them!
I've sold 4 week old pullets for $5 each, at that point I'm keeping the cockerels for future freezer camp, but if they want one they can have one.
I've got four pullets left from the NYD hatch (because I never advertised them), they are being picked up on Tuesday at $8. The lady advertised on CL she was looking for some, so I responded to her ad.
Still, every person has been excited, saying my prices are the best. With the day olds, both people have planned to eat the cockerels, knowing they are straight run.
I didn't think I could go higher, the feedstore sells HQ pullets for $2-5, depending on the breed. But I've had people tell me they want to support hobby breeders instead of commercial hatcheries.
Of course, after saying this I'll probably get stuck with every other chick I hatch. And my DH has been having me compulsively hatch eggs from out SQ campine. I currently have 18 chicks growing out at various ages.
