Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Okay, a last minute entry to the Chicken Design contest. She said she'd still take them for the good of the community since the poll wasn't created yet.

Once again, a piece of foam pipe insulation. It takes two snips of a pair of scissors (the length you want and to open the side), two pieces of papertowel to plug the ends, three pieces of tape and your eggs are ready to pack for shipment. The foam costs about $2 for a six foot length. All eggs can stand the correct orientation and side by side in the box. You can add a little filler between the cylinders if they don't fill the box.

Deb

Very clever.

I'm back. Good grief... now I'm scared my bator is going to go wild on me. Do you think DW would notice if I bought a NEW 1588 with the digital thermostat and switched it out?

These are the words that have inspired my submission to the incubator contest. I call it "Rogue Bator"

*Disclaimer: Absolutely no hatching eggs were harmed in the making of these pictures.

You silly goose, where do you come up with the things you say, and do?? ey? Pretty cute..glad no potential babies were canceled!!

Just candled my eggs. I tossed about 7 blood rings. :( Mostly my black and blue silkies. It's not looking to good for those and it saddens me because that is what I really wanted. I can not see through my ameraucana eggs too dark but one. And I can say 25 eggs I know for sure are good and developing.

I have enough room for an emu! I even have a fence all the way around the back yard; just have to extend the wire fencing to the top of the posts, and then the overhang that deters the detainees from becoming escapees. I can get to the back yard through the house, or through three different gates. There is plenty of shade as well as sunshine, and loads to see all around.

*sigh* I have 15 cats, 4 dogs, and all my chickens to feed. Not sure I could afford an emu on top of all that.

As I remember it, 15 cats eat about 1 very large bag of cat food in a week. Always felt like I was filling their bowl! LOL
