My little serama finally stopped chirping loudly and is finally taking a snooze. I think she's tired. I know she's lonely. I think i'm going to try and brood her with the polish. They're huge compared to her, but I don't know what else to do. I need to set up a different brooder. The one I have is just too big I think. I'm also going to try to create my own little eco-glow with my flex-watt heat tape. I want to give her the best chance at survival. I'm already so in love. She is seriously the tiniest little thing.
I put the Seramas in a shoe box sized plastic box up on a dish rack in the brooder for the 1st week or else I seem to lose them from the other chicks being to rough on them. I also crush up the chick crumble so it is easier for them to eat for the 1st few weeks. I have one now that hatched and I put it in with the quail it is about the same size.
I finally woke up to 8 quail hatched yesterday then another one later in the day. My final hatch 5 chicks 9 quail 14/100 14% almost all shipped eggs and a heat spike to 106F then a problem with the humidity. I'm glad I got anything.
