Hi all, first post.

Just recieved a dozen Aylesbury duck eggs in the post. Eggs were inside Styrofoam with blue paper towel around them. Unfortunately one egg has got broken and the liquid from it has spread all over the other eggs and combined with the blue paper towel has stained them with the blue dye.

Do you folks think it's worthwhile setting these eggs? Would there be chemicals in the dye that could affect the eggs, or would the fact that one was broken indicate that the hatch rate will be poor as they were obviously msihandled?

TIA
James

People write on hatching eggs all the time, so that should be fine. However, since you have a broken egg the rest probably are going to have a rough go of it.
