Mailing into DFW

the vitamin pack is for the water when the arrive, I have 6 in an 8x14 and they do great - using the deep liter method with oak leaves and it's been really low odor - has some light farm smell if you sit in the middle of the coop but nothing unpleasant.

I got my girls for Metzer and I find over all they are skittish the way horses in a field are skittish - they have their own thing to do and they will stop by to say hi and mug for treats but seriously there are some leaves over there that need noodling, when they get sleepy then they are more up for a lap and some scritches.

So the vitamin pack is for the water when they arrive, do you still have to limit their exposure to drinking water when they drive if they have that gro-gell in their delivery box?

Also, I was thinking about doing the smooth-pebble-rinse-down method for the run flooring, straw for the coop, and give them a few hours forage time everyday. We'll see how that pans out. If it doesn't work I will try the deep litter method. As I stated at the top, I live in DFW are of Texas, and our summers are hot and humid.

Make sure to tell your postman when they are coming and also contact your post office and have them call you as soon as they get to them.

I went to the post office the day before they were set to arrive and gave them my info. They called me at 6 a.m. as soon as the package was off the truck. I also live in a really small town so I think the service might be a bit more personalized, but I also can't imagine anyone would want the unnecessary death of little ducklings on their minds!

Good luck.

Good idea. I’ll do the same.
