Maine? Home or backyard chickens

Hey everyone I am about to get some chickens this june and was wondering if anyone knows anything about Maine laws.. there has to be something.. since they won't be getting any money from my chickens.. they must try to get something out of me..lol also I may just sell the eggs too anything about that also..it's just five chickens for now..

I think it would be a great idea to have forums for different states as far as the legalities and such and be easier to locate threads along with the general information.

it varies from county to county and town to town, call your town hall. You also need to find out what you are zoned for. I am allowed 25 chickens while the next town over can only have 5 hens, so it varies....

You can also call your county or township animal control office. When I was doing my research I was referred by my town hall to them. HTH!
