After the absolutely nutty spring we've had with people going ape to get chicks, I 100% understand the shortness the pm gave you, because they've been nothing but abused through this chick season, with people harassing them on orders and then forgetting they ordered chicks during the panic and are ignoring calls and not picking up because they think they'll get refunded. I don't approve of how they treated you but i can relate.
I also 100% approve of them taking the birds home since many, many people are not picking up there orders.
When I order chicks, I track them a few times a day and check my phone. If I didn't, and they couldn't reach me to pick up my babies, that's on me, and I would hope someone would take them home so they don't freeze in the post office.
