Maine newbie looking for support, esp w/ Lavenders

oooh pretty birds in your profile pix! Still cold n damp n WINDY here so I guess I will continue to keep the pullets inside. Can't wait for them to be outside with children tending to the morning chores :)

I've been reading and I think I am confused. Ameraucana and EE and Araucana and what not... oh boy, beards but no tails, grey legs vs not.... The Roo I am getting has a tail. The Araucanas don't have tails-- rumpless but with crazy cheek/beard feathers so does that mean the roo I am getting is Ameraucana? The Ameraucana is... another breed entirely? Overwhelmed here. The sellers say the bird is coming from the Shaffer line, whatever that means. I suddenly feel like I am out of my depth. Any thoughts? I read a few threads in here about the breeds and I think I am fine breeding/keeping Ameraucanas but want to know what is what.
